Community engagement is essential in advancing independence, productivity, and full citizenship of all people with disabilities. Each person-centered plan connects the essentials of daily living with practical life experiences. Through this process, the team identifies how each individual wants to live and the type of supports that are congruent with each individual’s lifestyle choices. The person-centered planning process is directed by each individual in conjunction with his or her interdisciplinary team. OCFD Programs are based on person-centered principles. All individuals work with staff members who are dedicated and trained to provide guidance and supervision so each participant can obtain their individualized goals. The program operates between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Program participants also have an opportunity to engage in recreational activities such as exercising, team sports and performing arts.
